12.27.10 Appointment with my doctor 11:15AM

“The Lord is my Light and my Salvation — so why should I be afraid? The Lord protects me from danger — so why should I tremble?”

Psalm 27:1

I was finally able to see my doctor today, she spent a good hour with us, my husband and daughter were with me (I was so glad they were). Since my doctor did not have my results of my arterial exam (12/23) in front of her she did not order any further tests. She did say this was a very serious matter and not to be taken lightly. If this turns out to be a clot in the vein I’ll go on to a vascular specialist, if it turns out to be an artery it will be a cardio specialist.

She also placed me on a low dose aspirin therapy. In the meantime, she told me if I get have any numbness or weakness, labored breathing, chest pain, dizziness, etc. to go straight to the hospital. We understood this was serious…she also said not to take maxalt for migraines as this constricts the blood vessels…at least until they figure out otherwise. Once the results of my arterial exam were studied she would inform me of the next course of action.

I was contacted 2 days later and the nurse said I had an ECHO scheduled for January 13th…what? I told her I was under the impression this was serious and I thought my doctor wanted this done sooner…
